Membership and Newcomers

All persons are of course welcome to worship at Trinity Church, whether or not they are members. Records are kept of two categories of membership, baptized members and voting members.

Baptized members include:

1) those who were baptized at Trinity and have not transferred nor been confirmed elsewhere,
2) those who were baptized in another denomination and have notified Trinity's clergy that they wish to be members of the parish,
3) those who were members of another Episcopal or other Anglican parish and have transferred to Trinity. To arrange a transfer to Trinity from another Episcopal or other Anglican parish please call the parish office (860) 527-8133.

Members entitled to vote at the Annual Meeting and other Parish meetings are the following:

1) baptized members who are at least 16 years old,
2) have received Holy Communion at least three times in the previous year,
3) have contributed to support of the parish and have regularly attended worship for the previous six months.

Newcomers

Visitors to Trinity Church are urged to introduce themselves to the clergy, staff, and greeters. We encourage you to sign the guest book located near the doors to the sanctuary and to fill out a prayer book "welcome" bookmark with any questions you may have.

Lunches for newcomers are held periodically and provide an opportunity for new people to meet staff and to get to know others who have come to Trinity recently. Inquirers' Classes will be held for adults and young people preparing for confirmation, Reception, or the renewal of their baptismal vows. Newcomers will be formally recognized and welcomed into the parish on Annual Meeting Sunday and on Pentecost.
